Radon Mitigation in Simla, CO 80835

Radon, an invisible and odorless gas, can seep into homes from the ground and pose significant health risks if left unchecked. In December 2024, Purple Mountain Radon completed a challenging radon mitigation project in Simla, CO, for a homeowner whose basement and crawlspace tested above 30 pCi/L. The team addressed the issue by creating a dual suction system that connected a basement suction point and a crawlspace suction point through a framed "pony" wall. The crawlspace was carefully encapsulated using multiple layers of 6-mil vapor barrier with gas/vapor matting beneath, ensuring proper airflow and radon gas collection. Additionally, the open cells in the "pony" wall were sealed with foam to prevent radon entry. The system was strategically vented at the corner of the crawlspace, ensuring optimal performance.

Radon Mitigation in Canon City, CO 81212

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can build up in homes, posing serious health risks like lung cancer. In this case, the customer in Canon City, CO, noticed elevated radon levels in their new construction home, mainly due to an open and unsealed sump lid, along with cracked expansion joints throughout the unfinished basement. They chose Purple Mountain Radon for their expertise in handling radon issues in new homes. To mitigate the risk, our team sealed the cracked joints with polyurethane caulk, installed an airtight sump lid, and routed the exhaust piping toward the rear of the home to effectively reduce radon levels.
